A very informative post. Internet dating being bigger than porn actually makes sense since people desire real love and relationship over porn which although attractive does not offer the depth and intimacy of a real loving relationship.
As an online dater (who met his wife online) I can testify to the value of seeking a partner via the internet. The fact that it actually does work is fuel for this trend to continue to grow. Other factors effecting this trend are the increasing number of internet users and our busy lifestyles and wanting the convenience of being able to search for a potential partner whenever we choose and not just the occasional night out.

In my opinion porn is some temporary desire you have and it will never be instense for a long time.

Your statement is 100% correct. There are millions of online personals looking for real love and friendship. Lot of people sincerely search online dating sites to find their match. Porn sites instantly satisfy the feelings, but dating sites satisfies the emotional aspect of love.

The number seem to support it but its really hard to imagine dating sites are more prevalent than porn. There is also a gray area of "adult dating" niche sites that walk the line between the categories and seem to be included as dating on your chart. I guess it does make sense when you think of how the internet is progressing, people are sick of porn and want to interact, so now dating sites are taking over.
